Admission to the Exam:
Basic Exam
You are eligible to take the basic exam if you can provide written confirmation of participation in a basic training course for the relevant mode(s) of transport you attended. A list of course providers recognized by the IHK for Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor training can be found in our Information Sheet for Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors – on page 8.
Renewal Exam
Only candidates whose training certificate is still valid (see the expiration date on the certificate) may participate in the renewal exam. The renewal exam can only cover the modes of transport for which the expiring training certificate applies.
Duration of Basic and Supplementary Exams
The basic exam lasts 100 minutes for the first mode of transport. For each additional mode of transport (supplementary exam), the exam time is extended by 50 minutes.
Renewal Exam
The renewal exam lasts 50 minutes for the first mode of transport and is extended by 25 minutes for each additional mode of transport.
