Description
For many employees of PGS15 storage companies, knowledge of chemistry is limited to knowledge of the regulations, such as the classification of substances and the contents of the safety data sheet. Nevertheless, risks must be assessed in the area of substances and chemical reaction patterns that require a more practical insight: substances that react with each other must be placed apart on the basis of the PGS15, the correct actions must be taken in incident management, such as for example neutralizing a substance.
Because the logistics companies are confronted with technical concepts that often mean little to them, but where the chemical producer does expect the chain partner to know what he is talking about, attention will also be paid to basic knowledge of chemistry. The lack of that piece of basic knowledge creates risks, which can be eliminated with a basic knowledge and, on the other hand, insight into practical knowledge of reaction patterns of chemical substances.
